NOW ON EXHIBIT:
Henry W. Herrick: Manchester’s Most Versatile Artist
In the Henry M. Fuller State Theatre Gallery in the Millyard Museum
Tuesday-Saturday, 10:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m. – Included with museum admission
Henry W. Herrick (1824-1906) was a talented wood engraver, book illustrator, and watercolorist. After spending his childhood in New Hampshire, Herrick began his career as an artist in New York, working for several prominent publishers, as well as teaching at the School of Design for Women. In 1865, he returned to Manchester where he continued to work as a designer and engraver, as well as take up the art of watercolor. Herrick was very involved in civic life in Manchester. He was active with the Manchester City Mission and was a founder of both the Manchester Art Association and the Manchester Historic Association.
This exhibition features many of his works from throughout his long and illustrious career.
