The latest book from the Boston & Maine Railroad Historical Society, "Queen City Rails: Manchester's Railroads 1965 – 1990," will be the topic of a lecture and book signing at the Millyard Museum on June 1 at 11 a.m.

The book tells the story of the railroads in and around Manchester in that crucial quarter-century, when Manchester was undergoing a transition from a gritty, industrial mill town to the modern city it is today.

Scores of rare photographs provide an in-depth look as the railroad went from an institution connected with daily life in Manchester to a modern curiosity for most. The presentation by author Rick Kfoury will feature information from the book as well as scores of photos, some of which did not end up in the book and have not been displayed publicly before.

The lecture and book signing are included with admission to the Millyard Museum. To RSVP, call 622-7531 or write to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
