Amoskeag New Mills 300 Bedford Street small
As part of the MHA's Holiday Open House, MHA Director of Operations Jeff Barraclough will present a talk about the history of the Amoskeag Manufacturing Company.
The creation and growth of Manchester is primarily the legacy of one entity: the Amoskeag Manufacturing Company.  This lecture looks at the origins of Amoskeag, how it developed, and its lasting legacy, which has extended long past the compay's closing in 1935.  It also looks at the founding of the Manchester Historic Association and how it became a repository for the history of the Amoskeag Company.
