The Manchester Historic Association Research Center is open to the public on Saturdays 10 a.m.- 4 p.m.  and Wednesdays 10 a.m. - 3 p.m.
Admission includes entrance to the Millyard Museum. Manchester Historic Association members are admitted at no charge.

Special appointments may also be made depending on staff availability.

Wheelchair symbol. The Research Center is wheelchair accessible.  Patrons with limited mobility are encouraged to use the side entrance.  Please ring the bell and staff will be available to assist you.

Research Questions

For those patrons who are unable to visit the Research Center, Manchester Historic Association staff is able to provide a research service at the following rates. We are not able to guarantee that we will be able to fully answer your query, but certainly will conduct a thorough search on your behalf.

First hour:
Free, plus cost of any copies (see below for copy prices)

Additional hours:
$10/hour for Manchester Historic Association members (includes up to 10 free copies) $20/hour for non-members (includes up to 10 free copies)

Exemptions:
Questions from the media and questions about specific holdings in our collection (“Do you have the XYZ Business Papers?”) are exempt from the fee.

Photo Reproduction Fee

High resolution files of images, or prints (see sizes available below) in the photograph collection can be ordered by contacting the Manchester Historic Association. Please note that the original photographs are of varying size, format, and quality, therefore not all images can be reproduced in a large format. After an order has been placed, a staff member will contact you if there is a problem with any of the images.  Click here to search the online photograph catalog.

Photograph-quality digital reproductions of photos in our database (for personal use only):

$25.00 for high-definition digital file
$30.00 for 8” x 10” print 
$40.00 for 11” x 14” print

Please inquire if you require a custom-sized print
10% discount for members

Reproductions (digital files) of photos in our database to be used in publications (permission required):

$75.00 for one-time publication
$200.00 for one-time publication on cover of book
$200.00 for non-editorial use (calendars, note cards, posters, t-shirts, etc.)

Fees for nonprofit organizations requesting images for publication are 50% of above.

 

Other Fees

Photocopies:

$.10 per page for members
$.25 per page for non-members

Low definition PDF scans:

$1.00 each for members
$2.00 for non-members

Postage/handling:

$1.00 for 1-10 sheets
Plus $1 for each additional increment of 10 sheets (i.e. 11-20 sheets would be $2.00, 21-30 sheets would be $3.00, etc.)

Please note: For a larger order, a deposit of a portion of the anticipated cost may be required before completion of that order.
