Millyard Museum
Current Exhibitions
Operated by the Manchester Historic Association, the Millyard Museum is housed in Mill No. 3 at the corner of Commercial and Pleasant Streets in the historic Amoskeag Millyard and tells the story of Manchester from its earliest inhabitants to the present day.
Learn how, over 100 years, the Amoskeag Manufacturing Company grew to become the largest textile manufacturer in the world and shaped the city.
The Museum’s Henry M. Fuller State Theatre Gallery features rotating exhibitions on a variety of topics. The Millyard Museum also features the Discovery Gallery, a multi-purpose space used for school groups, family programs, lectures, temporary exhibits and other activities.
Mobile Tour
Visitors to the Millyard Museum can enhance their experience by using a mobile audio tour as they explore the museum. The tour allows visitors to learn about the history of Manchester and the people who have lived and worked there.
There are currently two tours available:
Audio Tour The audio tour consists of 18 different stops in the museum’s permanent Woven In Time exhibit. Each stop features original audio, historic imagery, and a written introduction, and goes beyond the information presented in the exhibit. The stops expand on one aspect of the story, providing detail that visitors wouldn’t otherwise learn about.
Children’s Tour The children’s tour also consists of 18 stops throughout the museum and looks at the exhibits from a kid’s perspective.
Visitors can use their personal smartphones and tablets on-site or from anywhere to access the content of these tours. Enjoy!
