Be A Volunteer

Volunteers play a vital role at the Manchester Historic Association. It is with their help that we are able to provide quality programming to the community. Please consider joining our group of dedicated volunteers!

Volunteer Opportunities

Volunteers can participate in a range of areas including:

Front Desk/Gift Shop

Volunteers at the front desk are the first to interact with visitors to the Millyard Museum! Tasks include taking admissions, ringing out gift shop sales, answering the phone, and getting visitors started on their tours through the museum. This is a great way to interact with the public and engage with our visitors.

Education

Education volunteers help the Museum Educator with tasks related to school programs, adult tours, and public programs. This may involve giving guided tours to school groups or adult groups, making these volunteers the voice of the museum!

Special Events

Special event volunteers generally help out on an as-needed basis to prepare for and coordinate special events and programs run by the MHA. This may involve helping with mailings, event set up and take down, and other tasks related to specific events.

Benefits for Volunteers

We at the Manchester Historic Association recognize and appreciate the wonderful gift that our volunteers give to us – their time and skills. As a thank you, the MHA offers the following benefits to its volunteers.

  • A 10% discount at the museum store
  • After 300 hours of service, a free one year membership
  • Free or reduced rates to lectures and educational events
  • Invitations to volunteer appreciation events.
